How Much Does it Cost? // Startup Apps

Great article written about the actual cost incurred when starting up a new tech company. Much more expensive than you’re probably thinking. Example, it’s written that twitter & instagram would both cost around 250k to get a Minimum Viable Product, or MVP.   http://thenextweb.com/dd/2013/12/02/much-cost-build-worlds-hottest-startups/#!zgE3f

America is not a country // Just a business

I’d like to say that this was my little phrase that I’d made up myself, but I didn’t. It’s at the end of the final monologue that concludes the movie “Killing Them Softly”. All in all, the movie is pretty worthless, until you hear Brad Pitt (I know, he’s a stud) close up to the credits with an truly revealing, albeit a short monologue, it shows the ultimate purpose of the entire movie. Watch after 2:10, that’s when it’s interesting. Yes, the movie is asking…

San Francisco // Mothballed in the streets

Yesterday, a friend of mine, Cole Fox & I hit the tenderloin of San Francisco. Why? Boredom? An excuse to warmup our camera skills? Not sure, but we had a blast and met some more interesting people than we normally do. The neighborhood was bustling with young and old vagrants alike. One of our younger interviewees, Jeb from Florida was open & candid. At just 18 he took a bus out here to sunny California, now 27 years old he calls the streets of SF…

Vincent Van Gogh: A Late Bloomer

He started late in life, began painting seriously in his 30’s. I’m 28 now, running into the end of my youth, and at the beginning of real adulthood. A good time to grab life by the horns and run with it. I’m no Van Gogh, but Slarve has such a nice ring to it.

Patience

Life is lived through years, not any single moment. Although sometimes it feels like that. Watching professional athletes demonstrates that perfectly. Although you can see them alive at any given moment of a big play or action, it took them years to lead up to that point. Little League, High School, College, maybe a girlfriend… maybe a boyfriend? Yo Yo Ma said it well when he said that genius isn’t born, geniuses are made.

Sharing the mind

We’ll call this a wandering thought, therefore, we cannot expect much from this.   I am renovating my first house now. Visited a new friend who has been tremendously helpful already, and I’m not completely sure why, although I take his help gladly. Let’s call him Mac. I visited Mac’s project today. It’s a spectacular house with new steel straps, recessed lights, HUGE beams, it even has fire sprinklers in it. It was really exciting to walk through and experience something that was nothing only…

Dov Charney

This guy used to be my idol in college. Canadian came to the US to sell T-Shirts. He’s in the news a lot, but he’s still livin’ the dream. Love you Dov, try not to get arrested on your way to the top. This was a public announcement they made in the paper when they were just getting started…
